The port terminal was part of the Chilean delegation that made advances in the process of commercial integration between Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. Reaffirming its commitment to regional development, Antofagasta Terminal Internacional (ATI) participated in the Third Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor Forum, held on April 13th and 14th in the city of Salta, Argentina.

At this important meeting, which was a continuation of efforts initiated in Brazil in 2022, representatives from Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Chile gathered again to continue paving the way towards territorial integration.

The Chilean delegation, headed by regional governor Ricardo Diaz and composed of representatives from both public organizations as well as the private sector, was part of the working sessions that addressed commercial relations and border procedures; public works, logistics, and transportation; tourism; and academic connections, among other matters.

"As ATI, we have been an active part of this entire process of reactivation of the Bioceanic Corridor since its inception because, from our role in the logistics chain, we believe in the importance of diversifying regional industries and integrating with neighboring countries to drive competitiveness," said Cristian Schuwirth, Commercial Manager of Antofagasta International Terminal, and a participant in the forum.

The executive also highlighted the initiative of a pilot test that ATI is promoting with shipments from Paraguay, which is expected to be carried out in the short term as a tangible demonstration of the possibilities that the corridor implies for routes from the ports in northern Chile to Asian markets.
