Antofagasta Terminal Internacional (ATI) is planning the new investments it will make after two decades of holding the concession to operate the Port of Antofagasta.

The Chairman of the Board of ATI, Mauricio Carrasco, reiterated the commitment to sustainability, the opportunities that the Bioceanic Corridor will open up for cargo diversification, and the development of new clean technologies. "Our port wants to be a facilitator for the region to build its future, working hand-in-hand with the lithium industry. We have already taken important steps in this direction, as we handled almost 100% of the imports of sodium carbonate, an essential ingredient for this industry," he said.

At the same time, Juan Pablo Santibáñez, General Manager of ATI, announced the terminal's upcoming projects aimed at improving its performance and productivity, which include changes in the operational model with the entry into operation of new terminal tractors and semi-trailers that will facilitate transfers, along with the optimization of the internal design to address various maneuvers. Both actions will also contribute significantly to strengthening operational safety.

"Today ATI celebrates 20 years and we are proud to be port operators. We have made progress in several aspects of our performance, and we hope to continue growing much more in the next 10 years, continuing with our hallmark of being pioneers and opening paths for future generations," highlighted the executive.
